Apollo 1 three-part hatch
The Apollo 1 three-piece inward-opening hatch is displayed beside the redesigned Block II hatch. Seen together, they show the pre-fire design beside the replacement adopted afterward.

The warship Vasa
The ship raised from Stockholm harbor remains the central object of the Vasa Museum. Its surviving hull preserves the vessel’s proportions, construction, and stability problem at full scale.
Object
Antikythera Mechanism fragments
The surviving bronze fragments are displayed at the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. Their gears, inscriptions, and broken plates provide the physical basis for modern reconstructions of the mechanism.
Object
Statue of Liberty’s original torch
The original torch removed during the 1980s restoration is housed in the Statue of Liberty Museum’s Inspiration Gallery. It preserves the earlier assembly that the current gilded torch replaced.
Landscape
Frank Slide debris field
The 1903 debris field still covers the base of Turtle Mountain. A public 1.5-kilometre trail through the rockfall lets visitors judge the slide’s scale on the ground.
